What is a Business
Alchemist?

An alchemist converts raw,
unrefined metals into more valuable metal alloys (like gold). Alchemy is an early protoscientific and
philosophical discipline combining the elements of chemistry, metallurgy, physics, medicine, astrology,
mysticism, and art. Alchemy has been practiced in ancient cultures in a complex network of schools and
philosophical systems spanning at least 2500 years. Historically, Alchemy has been one of the main precursors of
modern sciences, and we owe to the ancient alchemists the discovery of many substances and processes that are
the mainstay of modern chemical and metallurgical industries.
The practicing Business
Alchemist see new visions from an infinite sea of potential, tracks which visions are the best matches, and
designs the steps toward goals to realize them. For Business Alchemists, the experiences of the past are no
longer dictating the experiences of their future. The Business Alchemist does not necessarily follow what is now
known as the “scientific method,” as much of the "knowledge" produced by those methods has been found to be
predictable, limited, wrong, or just meaningless.
The metaphor “Steely”
conotates a strong metal… Chris has been called “The Metal Guy” and “Man of Steel.” These words
define a business leader who is responsible for transitioning resources – whether money, time, or personnel
– into more valuable “elements,” which foster advanced progress, success, and profitability for individual
companies, and the global business community.
